perfect (v.) assignment

verb.  to perfect.  to bring to perfection or completion.

this weeks assignment focuses on the editing process.  what steps do you need to take to “perfect” your image and make it feel finished?

find an old photo to revamp.  change the color, crop it, add a border, add text, make it blurry, make it sharp, make it polished.

take a new photo(s) and push yourself to explore the editing process.  take it too far. see what happens.

display your original image and your “perfected” work side by side.

find a partner.  decide on one image for the both of you and edit/perfect this image to your own taste.  compare your interpretations and display both perfected works side by side.

prose assignment

mint typewriter

prose doesn’t usually make it in the published world because prose is a literary outlaw. it lacks the metrical structure of poetry, verse or story. it lacks format. it breaks rules. prose is the lawless stuff of diaries, journals, scribbles and doodles. it’s the stuff that isn’t perfect and needs polish. the tendency is to ignore prose and the trick is to realize its potential.

p(r)ose and position assignment:

prose has no expectations. maybe it serves no purpose.
prose knows no beginning, middle or end.
prose holds no position.
prose can be written without attachment. it exists momentarily and everlastingly.
it holds a timeless pose.
the prose assignment is an adventure in writing and a challenge in incorporating recent photographic assignment themes.

1. compose prose specific to the photography of the past two adventureclubinteractive assignment weeks.

12:38 sunday. by- nony

same time different day nony sunday

12:38 Sunday.  It’s after lunch and someone knows it’s time for a walk.  Must bring 3 doo doo bags as this fellow is considerate enough to wait until after 12:38 to do his business on the sidewalk or someone’s front yard.  Going on 1 year old and still needs social skills – from trying to chase cars, barking at other dogs, or trying to pick a fight.  Coward really because when confronted, wags tail and cowers when bigger dogs are willing to take him on.  He prides himself of being a guard dog and that’s how he earns his keep.
