“Activity and rest are two vital aspects of life. To find a balance in them is a skill in itself. Wisdom is knowing when to have rest, when to have activity, and how much of each to have. Finding them in each other – activity in rest and rest in activity – is the ultimate freedom.”
― Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Celebrating Silence: Excerpts from Five Years of Weekly Knowledge 1995-2000
it is idealistic and somewhat foolish to strive for perfect consistency and constancy. events arise, complications emerge, energy levels shift and change. and as humans, we are flawed.
the world we live in encourages constant “doing”. it can feel like you have to run a mile a minute just to stay in the same place. nobody moves full speed ahead forever. we are made of friction despite the impression of inertia. just as cars run out of gas. ocean waves rush in, break and retreat. the sun rises and falls. no matter how plugged in we think we need to be, no matter how “always connected” to the technological world we live in today, it is beneficial to step away at times and take a break. rest. enjoy the sun. maybe the ocean. maybe a drive to nowhere in the car.
so we have decided to take a brief vacation from our adventureclubinteractive schedule and task lists for the remainder of the week. we will post our new, “official”, assignment on monday, february 4th, and we hope you will join us!
the truth about this hiatus goes beyond the need for rest. more than the rhythms and cycles to life and creativity. although this seems like an online hiatus, the creators of adventureclubinteractive have been enjoying a truly organic, face to face reunion and have been generating more ideas than ever!
